BIO: 1990 was the first organized „Pow Pow“ Party by Ingo Rheinbay and friends in a Jamaican soundsystem-style. This was the birth of the now 20 years successful lasting soundsystem history. After the first Jamaica Trip in 1992 together with Reggae Artist Gentleman (who was part of the Pow Pow crew) there was only one target; REGGAE!!! After several shows the crew made a name of themselves and pushed the german Reggae,- and Dancehall scene more further. With Mr. Brown and Devon the soundscrew was more complete, and because of the travelling fans the started call themselves “Pow Pow Momevent”. They began to play at the Cologne Nightclub Petit Prince weekly sessions (now 15 years long), sometimes with interbational guests like David Rodigan, Stonelove, Tny Matterhorn, Bass Odessey, Shaggy and many more. The Movement also became a festival-act on the summerjam Festival’95, and in 2000 it was the first European sound ever at the World-Clash in New York, a performance that inspired many upcoming soundboys worldwide. One year later Ingo Rheinbay founded the Pow Pow Production label, another step for success in the future, Pow Pow has reached their position of top labels and sound with international chart breakers like “superior” (Gentleman) or “blood again” (Richie Spice) just to name a few.
The rest is history, Pow Pow played their sound in almost every town and every festival in Europe. Countries like Italy, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, England, Portugal, Spain or also international places like Jamaica, Africa, U.S.A. or Canada is not new to them. Countless Dubplates being voiced on their endless list of trips throuout the world made the Pow Pow Movement to what the are today, and that is the most booked sound in Europe.
